Jean-Luc Van Den Heede wrote his name into the record books by not only winning the 2018 Golden Globe solo non-stop round the world race today, but becoming the oldest in history to complete such a race. Karol Jablonski wins 19th edition of Match Race Germany: „We won this title as a team – I am proud of my young crew!“
Karol Jablonski and his new young crew from two local yacht clubs on the shores of Lake Constance in Southern Germany won the 19th edition of Match Race Germany. The former matchracing World Champion Jablonski, Michael Seifarth, Adrian Bleninger and Conrad Rebholz defeatet Maxime Mesnil’s Co Pilotes By Normandy Elite Team in the final by 3:0 in fresh winds between 14 and 22 knots.

The rehearsal fort he 2016 Match Race Germany was a sunny pleasure in light winds on Lake Constance. Twelve teams from eight nations git acquainted with the big yachts, practised maneuvers and enjoyed the spectacular scenerey with the Alps, Castle Montfort and Langenargen’s Gondola Harbour with all the coloful flags in the backdrop.

Wild Oats XI has claimed first bragging rights in the 2013 Rolex Sydney Hobart, leading the fleet out to sea after one of the fastest, most exciting starts ever. After a cloudy, nothing sort of Boxing Day morning, the sun finally emerged an hour before start time, and with Sydney Harbour looking picture perfect you could almost see the intensity building as the fleet jostled each other along the three separate start lines in a 12 to 15 knot south-easterly.
